Active Perl version is 5.16.0.1600 I have followed the exact steps as mentioned in the tutorial but i am facing an issue when i run 'C: bugzillaperl '. There are many modules which were not found which were required by Bugzilla. I tried to install it using the above mentioned command and got the following error: C: Bugzillappm install TimeDate ppm install failed: Can't find any package that provides TimeDate I dont understand why 'ppm repo list' shows 0 repositories. Have a look: C: Bugzillappm repo list ┌────┬──────┬────────────────────────────────┐ │ id │ pkgs │ name │ ├────┼──────┼────────────────────────────────┤ │ 1 │ 463 │ ActiveState Package Repository │ │ 2 │ 0 │ UWinnipeg │ │ 3 │ 0 │ Trouchelle │ └────┴──────┴────────────────────────────────┘ (3 enabled repositories) Please help me out to install these missing modules.

Hi Rahil, Make sure that you clear anything related to perl from your registry before installing 64 bit perl. The perl installer did not like remnants of earlier perl installs in the registry or the path.Matt Matthew Zimmerman VP Engineering FarSounder, Inc 43 Jefferson Blvd. Warwick, RI 02888 USA p: 401-784-6700 f: 401-784-6708 support-bugzilla mailing list PLEASE put in the To: field when you reply. I get the following: Checking for DBD-mysql (v4.001) ok: found v4.021 There was an error connecting to MySQL: installdriver(mysql) failed: Attempt to reload DBD/ aborted. Compilation failed in require at (eval 1318) line 3, chunk 558.
At Bugzilla/DB.pm line 1284. This might have several reasons:.
MySQL is not running. MySQL is running, but there is a problem either in the server configuration or the database access rights. Read the Bugzilla Guide in the doc directory. The section about database configuration should help. Your password for the 'bugs' user, specified in $dbpass, is incorrect, in './localconfig'. There is a subtle problem with Perl, DBI, or MySQL.
Make sure all settings in './localconfig' are correct. If all else fails, set '$dbcheck' to 0. I checked everything above and it all appears to be correct. I can connect to mysql at the command line with the bugzilla user and pass provided to the localconfig file. I have installed serveral times with the same result. I did not have this problem with the 3.6 version of bugzilla on windows 2003. Regards, Rahil Hi Rahil Can you please share, how you had resolved the issues. Because i am facing the same issue, narrated by you.
I had a problem re-installing WSUS 3.0 SP2 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 DC. When the installer was on the same step of 'Configuring the Database,' the installer produces the error message: 'There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.'
Then it proceeds with the rolling back action. As I mentioned on technet, I can also confirm other cases I've seen where.NET 4.7 has an issue on FIRST install. Once the system is configured, 4.7 is OK to use.
This applies not only to 2008, but 2012 and 2012R2 as well. Pretty sure I've also seen it with 2016 on the forums somewhere on the internet. Also, while you're at it, setup and use my script. A new WSUS Server does not mean that it's clean or optimized! It's just NEW.

Have a peek at my Adamj Clean-WSUS script. It is the last WSUS Script you will ever need! What it does: 1. Add WSUS Index Optimization to the database to increase the speed of many database operations in WSUS by approximately 1000-1500 times faster. Remove all Drivers from the WSUS Database (Default; Optional). Shrink your WSUSContent folder's size by declining multiple types of updates including by default any superseded updates, preview updates, expired updates, Itanium updates, and beta updates.
Optional extras: Language Packs, IE7, IE8, IE9, IE10, Embedded, NonEnglishUpdates, ComputerUpdates32bit, WinXP. Remove declined updates from the WSUS Database.
Clean out all the synchronization logs that have built up over time (configurable, with the default keeping the last 14 days of logs). Compress Update Revisions.
Remove Obsolete Updates. Computer Object Cleanup (configurable, with the default of deleting computer objects that have not synced within 30 days). Application Pool Memory Configuration to display the current private memory limit and easily set it to any configurable amount including 0 for unlimited. This is a manual execution only. Checks to see if you have a dirty database, and if you do, fixes it. This is primarily for Server 2012 WSUS, and is a manual execution only. Run the Recommended SQL database Maintenance script on the actual SQL database.

Run the Server Cleanup Wizard. It will email the report out to you or save it to a file, or both. Although the script is lengthy, it has been made to be super easy to setup and use so don't over think it. There are some prerequisites and instructions at the top of the script.
After installing the prerequisites and configuring the variables for your environment (email settings only if you are accepting all the defaults), simply run:. Clean-WSUS.ps1 -FirstRun If you wish to view or increase the Application Pool Memory Configuration, or run the Dirty Database Check, you must run it with the required switch. See Get-Help. Clean-WSUS.ps1 -Examples If you're having trouble, there's also a -HelpMe option that will create a log so you can send it to me for support.
I've been fighting a WSUS 3.0 SP2 install on my IT Server. I've been fighting it for days. I've built scripts to automate the cleaning after a failed install, compiled from a dozen posts across the years. Delete these registry keys, wipe out those folders, uninstall Windows Internal Database, reboot. Repeat, recycle, research. I'm at my absolute limit with this. Is it the Network Service security settings?
Is it a wonky Registry key? Is it a failed Windows KB2720211 Update that locked the Internal Database in Single-User mode? Why does it hang EVERY time on Configuring Database?! Why is it not generating all of the Registry keys I've been told to clean out?? Why does the Internal Database work fine until WSUS wants to use it?! I finally throw in the towel and come to beg for help. Hands and knees.
I click the WSUS link to plead for help. And discover, without asking, that.Net 4.7 messes with the install of WSUS 3.0. Posted three hours before I arrive. Somehow this tidbit wasn't turning up in any search I put together.
Not a single one. You guys F&@^ING ROCK.
And yeah, I'm going to set up the Adamj Clean-WSUS script.
